Nevin Steiner is 39 and lives with Becker Muscular Dystrophy. He was diagnosed at the young age of six. For most of his life, Nevin has lived without many limitations. During high school he played on the varsity tennis team and at his peak physical performance he even participated in the Trans New Hampshire Bike Ride. In 2010, 2011 and 2012, Nevin and his Dad, Tom participated in the ride.
Nevin graduated from Loyola College in Maryland and has worked at ESPN as a Digital Producer for the past 16 years. Along with riding the Trans New Hampshire Bike Ride, Nevin’s major accomplishments in life include getting married to his wife and having two children. He loves New York sports, Yankees, Knicks and Jets … Sorry New Hampshire! He enjoys cooking.
As Becker Muscular Dystrophy has become more apparent in Nevin’s life, he has turned to advocacy work, with the goal of being a positive influence to others living with MD. His message to all is, “It’s not about the life you can’t live, but the life you can.”
